Ngarunui Beach

Enjoy a cliff-top view from the lookout. Also known as Ocean Beach, Main Beach or Wainui Beach, this is a magnificent black sand beach, ideal for swimming and perfect for learning to surf. The area above the beach is Wainui Reserve where four carvings stand known as the Whaingaroa Creative Sculptures, each representing a different wind direction. It is a great place to watch the sunsets.
