Overview

Glowworm is very famous in New Zealand, but you are not allowed to take pictures at all sites. However, you will stay in the cave for about 30 minutes and you can take as many pictures as you want. Please bring your own camera and try to get great pictures.

Also, the tour guide will bring a nice one-lens camera and take pictures with you and beautiful glowworm light, which will be a good gift for you.

After the cave, heading to Whangarei to have nice seafood chowder to warm you up. Also, you have free time to walk around in the nice harbour area. You can do shopping as well.

At the end of this tour, you will see a giant Kauri tree at the age of 800 years.
This tour must be good for you to get to know New Zeland!

What To Expect

Honey Centre

This is very cute shop and nice honey making company. There is honey tasting so you can try more than 10 flavours ! Also, there are so many nice products in the shop so you can find good gifts for your family and friends (honey wraps, cups, honey candies, honey hand creams etc).
At the next to the shop, there is a cafe selling nice ice cream ! Flavours are Fig & Manuka honey, Fijoa & Manuka honey, Almond & Manuka honey etc. All ice cream contains Manuka Honey and this is that you can't find anywhere in Auckland City Center. Must try them !!

Waipu Cave

This cave is Glowworm cave, but the difference from other famous caves is that you can take as many pictures as possible in the cave !! At other caves, you are not allowed to take photos or you have only little time, but here you will stay in the cave for maximum 35 minutes and keep trying to have good photos ! You will see beautiful millions of Glowworm light that is like milky way !!

Town Basin

Whangarei is far from Auckland City center but very popular and must visit place. Especially at town basin, you will see lots of yacht and old European styled buildings so feel different from other cities.
Here you will have lunch and free time for shopping. There are cafes, gift shops, information center, sweets shops and so on. Lunch is popular seafood chowder (NZ green mussel and variety of seafood are contained).

Parry Kauri Park

You can see Giant Kauri Tree here ! The age of the tree is 800 years old !! No walk to see the giant tree so easy for you! also you will have free time there so enough time to enjoy walking through the NZ north island native bush. Due to the protection policies, we have only few kauri forest to go through and most trekking courses are closed now. And you can't see such old and giant Kauri tree at any other places close to Auckland. Must visit place !
